Greg Guillemin has a very Roy Lichtenstein-ish style. I like the simple and clean look of his work.

This artist created a realistic portrait by using tiny images of different colored and shaped pills. Mosaic/ collage technique. Very cool.

Examples From Inspiring Illustrators:

http://theinspirationgrid.com/editorial-illustrations-by-sam-kalda/
http://www.samkalda.com
Sam Kalda has done many beautiful illustrations for editorials and articles. I like his style. He uses lots of different textures and pleasing yet subdued color schemes in his work. His pictures almost look like they are made out of pieces of fabric, but there is also a fairly realistic feel to his illustrations.

http://theinspirationgrid.com/illustrations-by-bob-dob/
http://www.emptykingdom.com/featured/bob-dob/
Bob Dob's illustrations are definitely more cartoon-like, but with a 3-D quality- a lot of depth. Almost like they are popping off the page.

http://www.simonstalenhag.se
Simon Stalenhag's work is all digitally done and is extremely realistic. Some of his illustrations look like actual photographs, but upon closer inspection, there is a softness apparent in his pictures, like a beautiful oil painting.
